The West Gonja Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Musah Karim Kusubari along with some beneficiaries of the west Gonja One-District-One-Factory (1D1F) initiative and officers from the rural enterprise programme on Thursday, 11th May 2023, conducted an inspection of some fitted equipment at the West Gonja municipal Enable youth 1D1F factory.
The purpose of the inspection was to assess the progress of the factory and to ensure that the installed equipment were in proper conditions for the operationalization of the 1d1f cassava processing factory.
The 1D1F initiative is a government-led program in Ghana aimed at promoting industrialization and economic growth at the district level.
It seeks to establish at least one factory in each district of the country to create jobs, boost local production, and reduce import dependency.
During the inspection, the MCE, accompanied by the municipal coordinating director, the beneficiary youths and some officers from the rural enterprise programme, examined the machinery and equipment installed at the factory.
They checked if the equipment were properly calibrated to meet the required standards for efficient production.
The inspection also provided an opportunity for the beneficiaries and the officers to interact, seek clarifications and provide feedback on the progress of the factory.
The inspection was an important step in ensuring that the 1D1F initiative was effectively implemented to enable the factory contribute to the economic development of the West Gonja municipality.
By inspecting the fitted equipment, the MCE, 1D1F beneficiaries, and rural enterprise stakeholders demonstrated their commitment to the success of the initiative and also offered them the opportunity to address any issues or challenges faced by the factory and make necessary adjustments to ensure its smooth operation.
