Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed, Headmaster of Ndewura Jakpa Senior High School (NDESCO), has boosted the school’s sanitation and hygiene drive by donating dustbins to each of its six houses.

The presentation took place during the Headmaster’s Assembly on Monday, August 12, 2025, where Alhaji Mohammed commended staff and students for their commitment to keeping NDESCO clean. He reminded them that academic excellence must go hand in hand with a clean and healthy environment.
“As we strive for excellence in academics, we mustn’t forget the importance of keeping our environment clean. Our school is not just a place of learning, but also a home for all of us. Let’s work together to keep it clean and beautiful,” he urged.

The initiative aims not only to improve the school’s physical surroundings but also to inspire a sense of ownership and pride among the NDESCO community. It is expected to encourage proper waste disposal and help sustain a clean learning space where students can thrive.
The gesture was met with loud cheers and applause as each of the six house prefects received their dustbins. The school’s houses are Kurabaso, Timu, Kanyiti, Awushi, Lermu, and Gbenyiti.

NDESCO has previously faced challenges with litter and waste management, but this move marks a step toward lasting change. Staff members praised the headmaster’s commitment to creating a healthy and sustainable campus, while students expressed pride in their improved environment.
The headmaster’s leadership has already earned him recognition. On August 6, 2025, during the prefects’ handing-over ceremony, the Visual Arts Department presented him with a portrait in appreciation of his contributions since assuming office in October 2022.

The wider community has also lauded Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed for his positive leadership style and dedication to the school’s progress.
