On July 6th, 2023, a delegation representing the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations paid a visit to the office of the Municipal Chief Executive for West Gonja, Honorable Musah Karim Kusubari.
The primary purpose of this visit was to formally notify Honorable Musah about the clearance of a designated site earmarked for the construction of a Public Employment Center (PEC) in Damongo, as part of the Ghana Jobs and Skills Project under the jurisdiction of the Labour Department.
Honorable Musah, accompanied by Mr. Dramani Inusah, the Head of the Works Department, and several other officers from the assembly, warmly received the delegation. Subsequently, they escorted the delegation to the designated construction site.
The construction of the PEC serves a vital objective, aiming to provide excellent office accommodations for workers. Its main focus is on creating a conducive environment to streamline the registration process for both job vacancies and job seekers. Additionally, the PEC will play a pivotal role in collecting and disseminating labor market information.
Furthermore, it will offer services such as job matching, job counseling, and career guidance to the economically active population of Ghana.
This project also aligns with the government’s larger mission of reducing unemployment and underemployment within the productive sectors of the economy.
Pure Heritage Limited, the contracted construction company, is expected to complete the project within a span of six months.
