On the 1st February,2022 the Municipal Chief Executive for West Gonja officially handed over the Damongo town Park to a contractor by name Mr. Albert Addo (Blaze Investment Limited).
According to him, the district is facing challenges of inappropriate social centers like; a community center and a well-organized constructed football pitch for social gatherings and other recreational activities. but plans currently are far advanced and the people of Damongo will get a community center and an Astro turf before close of the year 2022.
The MCE apologized to those who would have liked to use the town Park for their programs and especially our young talented footballers who represent the Damongo town team. Any inconvenience is deeply regretted.
The MCE pleaded with the general public to give the contractors the necessary support and cooperation when they begin their work.
He broke the news that this year’s Independence Day celebration may not be able to take place at the Damongo town Park because of the constructional works. He also assured that there will be a venue relocation for this year’s Independence Day celebration which will be communicated to the general public soon.
The MCE was accompanied by the district works engineer Mr. Inusah Dramani and Mr. Denise Osei an assistant director from the assembly.
The contractor (Mr. Albert Addo) briefed the MCE more on the Astro Turf project and work will commence as soon as possible.
