Madam Gertrude Yentumi, the Municipal Health Director of West Gonja, has voiced concerns regarding the reluctance of staff to accept postings outside of Damongo township.
During the end-of-year performance review for 2023, which took place at the West Gonja municipal conference hall on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, Madam Yentumi highlighted the challenge faced by the health sector in staffing facilities beyond Damongo.
Expressing disappointment at the declining numbers of staff willing to work outside the municipal capital, Madam Yentumi emphasized the necessity for a fair distribution of healthcare professionals across the municipality.
She stressed that delivering quality healthcare services extends beyond Damongo town and called upon staff to prioritize the health and well-being of all residents, regardless of their location.
Her remarks underscored ongoing efforts to address disparities in healthcare access and delivery within the West Gonja municipality.
