The West Gonja Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Yakubu Yussif Castro, has extended a heartfelt message of encouragement to all candidates sitting for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the municipality under the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

Speaking directly to the students, Hon. Castro expressed strong confidence in their readiness and potential to excel, referencing positive assessments shared by the Municipal Education Directorate. He reminded the candidates that the BECE is a reflection of what they have been taught throughout their academic journey, reassuring them that the questions would be drawn directly from their curriculum.
“Don’t let the presence of exam officials or stakeholders intimidate you,” he urged. “You are prepared, and this is your moment to shine.”

To further motivate the candidates, Hon. Castro announced a special scholarship initiative for outstanding performers. According to the MCE, top-performing students will receive scholarships to pursue tertiary education. Notably, if a female student ranks among the top three and successfully completes her first degree, the Assembly will sponsor her postgraduate studies abroad.
He concluded his address with words of encouragement, wishing all candidates success and urging them to approach the exams with confidence and determination.
This gesture underscores the West Gonja Municipal Assembly’s unwavering commitment to promoting quality education and investing in the future of the municipality’s youth.
