The Principal of Damongo College of Agriculture and Allied Sciences (DCAAS), Alhaji Mohammed Nuhu Adam, has raised concerns over the encroachment of the school’s land by residents of Damongo.
According to him, the institution’s land is under serious threat, as portions are being sold by local chiefs to community members. He appealed to the chiefs and the people of Damongo to help safeguard the land, warning that continued encroachment could eventually force the school to relocate due to the lack of space for student practicals.
Alhaji Mohammed Nuhu Adam made this appeal during the matriculation ceremony for the 2024-2025 academic year, held at the West Gonja Municipal Assembly conference hall on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
During the ceremony, 140 fresh students—comprising 100 males and 40 females—were officially inducted into the college. Addressing the new students, the principal encouraged them to take full advantage of the opportunities the institution offers, equipping themselves for self-employment and job creation upon graduation.
