The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for West Gonja Hon Musah Karim Kusubari today 31st January,2022 inspected the handing over of a 20 acres land to 4 contractors for the construction of an ultra modern 21st century school near Busunu.
Work is expected to commence soon after the handing over of land to the contractors.
The school is expected to be located between Tailorpe and Busunu stretch
The MCE thanked the contractors for their warm first impression shown towards their work and ask them to continue in order to achieve a successful completion of the project.
During the facilitation, the municipal chief executive was accompanied by the presiding member for West Gonja Hon Mumin Mohammed and Mr Denise Osei an assistant director at the West Gonja Municipal assembly.
The consultant for the project Mr Kakraba Ampeh from the ministry of education thrown more light about the whole project to the MCE and his subordinates
According to Mr Ampeh, the construction of the 21st century schools is a package under the auspices of the Government of the day.
He said, the package is currently only 5 slots which has been shared among only 5 regions out of the 16 regions of Ghana and thank God Savannah region is not left out
The consultant went further by explaining that, the package is splinted into phase 1and phase 2
The first phase is going for the construction of an ultra modern Boarding junior high school (JHS) with an ultra modern science Lab ,well furnished school Library, a dining hall complex, boys and girls dormitory block, class room block, administration block, ultra modern oval for recreational activities and all it takes to keep a student at the boarding house.
The phase two is also about the construction of another ultra modern Senior high school (SHS) with the same facilities attached to the Junior high school on the same campus.
Mr Ampeh made it known that, the 21st century school is going to be the best because it’s going to create an enabling environment for teaching and learning for students.
