The MCE for West Gonja Municipal Assembly Hon Karim Musah Kusubari has said that he is passionate about sanitation hence he will work so hard to improve sanitation in the West Gonja Municipality.
Hon. Musah Kusubari made this comment when he visited some landfill sites in Damongo and Larabanga.
In Larabanga, Hon. Musah Kusubari after visiting some dumping sites and seeing for himself how bad the sanitation situation is at the dumping sites and some public toilets in Larabanga, assured the Assembly man for Larabanga Electoral Area that he will inform zoomlion company to bring some refuse dump containers to Larabanga in order to improve sanitation in the community.
Assembly Man for Larabanga Electoral Area Hon. Amidu Karim KK thanked the MCE and said if they get the refuse dump containers from zoomlion company, it will help to improve sanitation in the Larabanga community.
According to the Assembly man for Larabanga Electoral Area, as big as Larabanga is, they only have one zoomlion refuse dump container which is absolutely inadequate to contain refuse generated in the community.
Hon. Karim Musah Kusubari also visited some dump sites in Damongo such as the galamsey station dump site, Damongo Zongo dump site and the market dump site.
At the dump sites, it was evident that the zoom lion containers there were full to brim but the zoom lion officers failed to pick the containers hence people around these areas have to now resort to dumping the refuse on the ground.
The West Gonja Municipal Chief Executive Hon Karim Musah Kusubari said he will resource the Municipal Environmental Health Officer (MEHO) Mr. Zakari Budali to evacuate the landfill sites and that the Municipal Environmental Health Officer should ensure that there are container guards assigned to guard every container in the Municipality so that the public will not dump their refuse on the bare ground instead of dumping them into the containers.
