In a heartfelt demonstration of his commitment to education and community development, the Member of Parliament for Damongo Constituency, Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor, has donated essential furniture to the Educational Directorate of the West Gonja Municipal Assembly. This contribution is aimed at addressing the persistent shortage of furniture in local schools and improving the overall learning environment for students.

The donation, made on the MP’s behalf by the NPP Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Adam Braimah, reflects Mr. Jinapor’s continued dedication to the development of his constituency. Chairman Braimah emphasized that the gesture is part of the MP’s broader mission to uplift communities through improvements in education, healthcare, agriculture, women’s empowerment, and youth employment.
“The MP’s impact on our constituency is unparalleled,” said Chairman Braimah. “He has championed progress across all sectors, and we deeply appreciate his tireless efforts.”
The furniture was procured through the MP’s allocation from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), underscoring his strategic use of government resources to promote quality education.

Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Issahaku Iddisah, expressed deep gratitude for the support. He shared that upon assuming office, one of the most pressing challenges he encountered was a severe lack of furniture in schools, prompting him to seek assistance from the MP.
“This donation is a significant relief,” Mr. Iddisah remarked. “It’s not the first time the MP has come to our aid—he has previously supported teacher motivation initiatives, provided furniture, and even constructed kindergarten blocks.”
Despite the progress, Mr. Iddisah appealed for additional assistance, citing ongoing issues such as electricity debts, lack of computers and printers, and limited office equipment. He called on stakeholders, traditional leaders, business owners, and the wider public to support education, stressing the importance of investing in the next generation.
The Headmistress of St. Theresa’s Primary School, Soale Latifa, also expressed her appreciation, noting that the donation would significantly enhance classroom activities. She highlighted that due to the furniture shortage, students had been forced to sit or lie on the floor to write.
“We are overjoyed to receive this support,” she said. “It will transform our learning environment. We look forward to more help to completely eliminate the furniture deficit.”

This donation stands as a clear testament to Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor’s unwavering commitment to education and community upliftment. As the West Gonja Municipal Assembly continues to tackle developmental challenges, support from leaders and stakeholders remains vital to securing a brighter future for the area’s children.
The call from the Directorate of Education for broader community involvement is a reminder that sustainable development requires a united effort. With continued collaboration, the path toward lasting educational improvement remains promising.
