The Member of Parliament for Damongo Constituency, Abu Jinapor, has donated 110 vials of anti-snake venom to the West Gonja Health Directorate to address the issue of snakebites. The donation was presented by his office coordinator, Mr. Bawa Fuseini, on the evening of Monday, May 13, 2024.
Mr. Fuseini conveyed the MP’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Ghana Health Service in the constituency, emphasizing Abu Jinapor’s dedication to the health and well-being of his constituents. He stated that the anti-snake venom would be administered to snakebite victims free of charge, as many are unable to afford the treatment.
The Municipal Medical Supply Officer, Mr. Madi Edmond, who received the anti-snake serum, expressed gratitude for the timely donation, noting that this season sees a surge in snakebite cases. He assured that the donated vials would be used effectively and provided to victims at no cost, as directed.
Mr. Edmond highlighted that snakebite incidents tend to increase during this period, with farmers and sheanut pickers being the most affected. He appreciated the MP’s continuous support, noting that this latest donation, among others, is expected to provide significant relief to the constituents.
