The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the West Gonja Municipal Assembly, Hon. Yakubu Yussif Castro, has commenced a familiarization tour of the municipality, beginning with visits to key security service institutions in Damongo.

Launched on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, the tour is part of Hon. Castro’s broader effort to formally introduce himself to stakeholders in the security sector and foster stronger collaboration for the municipality’s growth and stability.

On the first day of the tour, the MCE visited the Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ambulance Service, and Ghana Police Service. These engagements provided an opportunity to build relationships and gain firsthand knowledge of the operations and challenges faced by each agency.

Hon. Castro emphasized the vital role of security services in ensuring peace and order—fundamental pillars for sustainable development. He also took the opportunity to promote key government initiatives, including the 24-Hour Economy and Feed Ghana programs, encouraging the security agencies to support and align with these policies to ensure their effective implementation at the local level.

The familiarization tour will continue in the coming days with visits to other departments and institutions across the municipality.
