Yakubu Yussif Castro, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) nominee for the West Gonja Municipality in the Savannah Region, has been officially endorsed by the Assembly Members.
The confirmation ceremony was held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at the Damongo Community Centre. Mr. Castro secured a unanimous endorsement, receiving all 17 votes cast—representing 100% approval—well above the required two-thirds majority of 12 votes.
The announcement of his confirmation was met with jubilant celebrations from party leaders, supporters, family members, and well-wishers.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Castro expressed heartfelt gratitude to the President for the trust and confidence placed in him. He also thanked the Assembly Members for their overwhelming support and pledged to serve diligently in the interest of the people of West Gonja.
Hon. Castro emphasized his commitment to improving sanitation across the Municipality and called on traditional leaders to collaborate closely with his office to promote the overall wellbeing and development of the area.
