Honorable Musah Karim Kusubari, the Municipal Chief Executive of the West Gonja Municipal Assembly, has officially presented two newly constructed healthcare facilities to the communities of Bonyanto and Jonokponto, both situated within the West Gonja municipality. These handover ceremonies took place on Friday, September 15, 2023, and were attended by the Municipal Director of Health Services, Madam Gertrude Yentumi.
On behalf of the Member of Parliament for Damongo, Honorable Musah Karim Kusubari handed over these facilities, which are specifically designed to serve as delivery centers, benefiting the residents of these areas.
Honorable Musah Karim Kusubari highlighted that the construction of these healthcare facilities fulfills a promise made to these communities by Honorable Abu Jinapor. This commitment was made in response to the challenges women in these regions face when seeking healthcare services. The West Gonja Municipal Chief Executive also acknowledged the trust placed in the Damongo Lawmaker by these communities.
He expressed optimism that these new facilities would make healthcare more accessible for the residents of both communities, particularly women. He emphasized Honorable Abu Jinapor’s dedication to these projects and encouraged the communities to continue supporting and praying for him. Honorable Musah Karim Kusubari also urged the communities to take ownership of these facilities and adopt a culture of maintenance to ensure their long-term effectiveness.
Madam Gertrude Yentumi, the Municipal Director for Health Services, commended the collaborative efforts of Lawyer Samuel Abu Jinapor and the West Gonja Municipal Chief Executive, Honorable Musah Karim Kusubari, in making these facilities a reality. She underscored the significance of women’s and children’s health in measuring a country’s progress and stressed that the delivery facilities would greatly benefit women in the area by reducing the need for long-distance travel to access delivery services. Madam Yentumi also discouraged home deliveries and encouraged the communities to utilize these newly built facilities designed to cater to their healthcare needs.
The women from both communities expressed their heartfelt gratitude and joy, appreciating the dedication and efforts of Honorable Abu Jinapor in fulfilling their aspirations.
These two facilities are equipped with delivery beds and other essential equipment, enhancing healthcare services within the communities.
