The Vice President His Excellency Dr.l Mahamudu Bawumia has urged the people of Damongo to consider the performance records of both the former president John Dramani Mahama’s administration of the NDC and the Nana Akuffo Addo’s government of the NPP in making their electoral decision in the upcoming general elections.
He said” both have records and therefore we can look at their records as we move towards the 2020 elections in making the decision at the polls”. “That is the only logical way to make the decision ” he added.
The Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia made these remarks when he was addressing a durbar of Chiefs and people in Damongo as part of his campaign tour to Northern Ghana.
He indicated that the Mahama administration mismanaged the economy and that led to the collapse of some government policies and programs including the NHIS and the abolishing of teachers and Nurses trainee allowance.
He mentioned Free SHS, Planting for Food and Jobs, 1V1D, and the creation of the new regions as some of the programs and policies promised and implemented by the NPP government and urged the people to give Nana Addo four more years to do more.
The Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa lauded President Akufo-Addo for his commitment to developing the infant savannah region.
He commended the efforts of the security agencies in working to ensure peace in the region and appealed for more security personnel into the region to support the current efforts in fighting crime, especially the increasing spate of highway robbery.
He also commended the Savannah Regional Minister and the Regional Coordinating Council for instituting the Akua Denteh Foundation to combat social injustice against alleged witches and gave his assurance to support stamp out the recent cases of instant Justice against alleged witches in the Kingdom.
