The Savannah Regional Minister and acting Municipal Chief Executive for the West Gonja municipal Assembly, Hon. Saeed Muhazu Jibril has on Monday 23rd August, 2021, presented eighteen ( 18 ) motorbikes to Hon. Assembly Members in the West Gonja Municipality.
This came as part of measures put in place by the Akuffo-Addo led NPP government through the ministry of Local Government and Rural Development and MMDAs to facilitate the day to day activities of the Assembly Members.
Presenting the motorbikes to the Assembly Members, Hon
Saeed Muhazu reiterated governments commitment in ensuring the smooth running of the day to day activities of the west Gonja municipal Assembly, hence the need for government to provide the motorbikes to the Assembly Members.
He explained that this is the second time government is providing motorbikes to Assembly Members since the NPP came to power and that after every assembly elections, government will provide motorbikes to both elected and appointed Assembly Members to facilitate the daily activities of the Assembly.
Hon. Mohammed mumuni , the Presiding Member for the West Gonja municipal assembly in a brief reamarks on behalf of the Assembly Members thanked the NPP government for the intervention and said it will help them carry out their activities with ease.
Hon. Mohammed also pleaded with government through the acting Municipal Chief Executive and Savannah regional Minister to try as much as possible register the motorbikes for them to avoid traffic rule violations.
In a response Hon Saeed Muhazu assured the Presiding Member and his colleagues that their appeal will be tabled in their next general assembly meetings for considerations.
